Standardized notation rules for Burmese TTS phoneme tuning. Scribe each syllable separated by a hyphen (-).

1. Four-Tone System (Suffix Digit)

Tone	Description	Burmese	Notation
`1`	Creaky / Short	က / ကည့်	`ka1 / kji1`
`2`	Low / Normal	ကာ / လာ	`ka2 / la2`
`3`	High / Heavy Falling	ကား / သွား	`ka3 / thwa3`
`4`	Stopped / Glottal	ကတ် / မတ်	`kat4 / mat4`

2. Consonant Voicing & Aspiration

3. Vowels & Rhymes

Notation	IPA Equivalent	Burmese Glyph	Sample
`a`	/a/	- / -ာ	`la2` (လာ)
`i`	/i/	-ိ / -ီ	`mi2` (မီ)

4. Closed Finals (Nasal & Stopped)

Ending	Effect	Sample
`-n / -ng`	Nasal vowel termination	အင် (`in2`), အန် (`an2`)
`-t, -k, -p`	Glottal stop closure (Tone 4)	အက် (`et4`), အပ် (`ap4`)

Notation Best Practices

Always hyphenate multi-syllable terms: pa1-ra2-si2-ta1-maw3
For weak neutral syllables (အသံလျော့), omit the tone number: sa-ka3 (စကား)
English loanwords should be transcribed into standard Burmese phonology: dok-ta2 for Doctor.

Thai TTS relies heavily on the 5-tone system and vowel length distinctions. Separate syllables with a hyphen (-).

1. Five-Tone System

Tone	Description	Thai	Notation
`0`	Mid (Neutral)	มา	`maa0`
`1`	Low	ข่า	`khaa1`
`2`	Falling	ข้า	`khaa2`
`3`	High	ม้า	`maa3`
`4`	Rising	หมา	`maa4`

2. Vowel Length (Crucial)

Type	Notation	Example
Short	Single letter (`a, i, u`)	ขับ (`khap1`)
Long	Double letter (`aa, ii, uu`)	ขาบ (`khaap1`)

Notation Best Practices

Final consonants in Thai are unreleased. Scribe as p, t, k, m, n, ng. (e.g., แม่น้ำ = mae2-naam3).
Distinguish aspirated (ph, th, kh) from unaspirated (p, t, k).

Korean TTS focuses on consonant tension and strict Batchim (final consonant) assimilation rules.

1. Consonant Tension

2. Batchim (Finals) Resolution

Notation Best Practices

Scribe the spoken pronunciation, not the spelling! (e.g., 같이 should be notated as ga-chi, not gat-i).

Chinese TTS relies strictly on standard Hanyu Pinyin with tone digits appended to the end of the syllable.

1. Pinyin Tone System

Tone	Description	Hanzi	Notation
`1`	High & Level (mā)	妈	`ma1`
`2`	Rising (má)	麻	`ma2`
`3`	Falling-Rising (mǎ)	马	`ma3`
`4`	Falling (mà)	骂	`ma4`
`5`	Neutral / Light (ma)	吗	`ma5`

2. Tricky Initials

Notation Best Practices

Avoid tone sandhi automation in the notation box; write the phonetic tone you actually want the AI to pronounce.
Separate syllables with a space or hyphen depending on your TTS backend (e.g., zhong1-guo2).
